Local Space is an innovative and dynamic social landlord with charitable status that is dedicated to delivering affordable and quality social housing to people on lower incomes, to help them improve their quality of life. This is an exciting time for us as we progress our development ambitions to acquire 800 homes by 2020 – this is significant growth in the number of homes we own. At the heart of this is our desire to develop a culture of employee engagement and high performance that reflects our values in the services we provide.

We are an Investors in People (IIP) organisation and reaccredited against the 6th generation IIP standard, achieving Silver status in March 2019. The new standard provides a deeper assessment on how organisations are doing as people orientated organisations that can successfully deliver against their objectives.

We are commited to equality and diversity in valuing our staff, tenants and residents, and work hard to create a friendly and responsive working environment.

Chair

Local Space is an innovative and dynamic social landlord serving Newham and the wider London area, with a strong track record in both adding social value and maintaining financial success – we hold the highest credit rating in the sector from Standard and Poor’s. Our growth strategy has helped us achieve ownership of 2400 homes, with plans for further growth, allowing us to better serve our customers and our local authority partners.

As our Chair, you will help drive forward our new corporate plan, which has a primary focus on providing excellent customer service for our tenants. Partnership working is key to delivery, so your strong interpersonal skills, and inclusive approach, will enable you to develop and maintain good external relationships, promote collaborative working and successfully lead our established and proven Board. Providing strategic support and challenge to our executive team, you will ensure that we deliver on our values and vision, and will share our understanding of the importance of providing additional services to make a difference in our tenants’ lives.

Your professional experience could be drawn from any sector; but you will be able to demonstrate confident leadership in achieving collective strategic decisions, possess strong non-executive and strategic experience, and work creatively with partners to provide services that meet our tenants’ needs whilst maximising value for money.

We are committed to diversity, and we welcome and encourage candidates from all backgrounds. If you would like to find out more, read the pack at https://www.campbelltickell.com/jobs/ and contact our lead consultant, Dawn Matthews on 07757 732260 for an informal discussion.
