We are inviting residents to express their interest to join our Scrutiny Group. This is a flexible, paid opportunity to help review our services, suggest improvements and raise issues that matter to your community.
The panel meets once a month and includes a Chair and two resident members, supported by Local Space staff. Any additional time will depend on the size and length of each project. Residents who take part in projects will receive £200 per project (up to £400 per year), paid after each project is completed.
What is the Scrutiny Group?
The Scrutiny Group helps improve how Local Space delivers its services. Members take part in short-term projects, using their experiences and local knowledge to look at areas such as repairs, customer service and energy efficiency.
You don’t need any specialist knowledge – just a willingness to join group discussions and share your views. As a member of the group, you’ll represent the interests of all residents, not just your own household.
Each project runs for a set period, and once it’s finished, the group disbands. This makes it a great option if you’d like to get involved on a project-by-project basis.
What you’ll do
- Take part in projects that review and improve Local Space services and policies.
- Share your experiences and ideas on key topics.
- Work with other residents and Local Space staff.
- Help make sure improvements reflect the needs of all residents.
- Provide feedback that helps shape decisions at a wider level.
Who can apply?
You can apply if you:
- Are a current Local Space resident.
- Are interested in improving services and community outcomes.
- Are happy to share your views and take part in discussions.
- Can commit to the timescales of individual projects.
- Support equality, diversity and fairness for all residents.
