We’re joining millions around the world to celebrate Pride Month, which gives everyone the opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and reflect on the importance of diversity, representation and inclusion in shaping a more just society.
Every June, Pride Month serves as a powerful reminder of the progress made towards equality, while also highlighting the ongoing journey to build a world where love is limitless, and everyone is free to be themselves.
Why Pride Month matters
We spoke with Josie Parsons, Local Space’s Chief Executive, to hear what Pride Month means to her and why it’s important to mark it every year.
“At Local Space, we’re committed to creating homes and communities where everyone feels valued, respected, and free to be themselves. That belief drives how we support our employees, serve our customers, and engage with our communities.”
“Pride Month is an opportunity for me to reflect on how social attitudes around the LGBTQ+ community has changed in the UK during my working life, making our society more accepting. We must remain vigilant against the growing narrative of ‘othering’ seen elsewhere and ensure that we protect and continue building a society where everyone is valued. Loving relationships are a positive force in the world, not just in an individual’s life but also as a counter to hate and discrimination.”
“As Chief Executive, I’m proud to champion and promote inclusivity. I want our workplace to be one where individuality is not only accepted but celebrated. This month, we’re excited to continue that journey by hosting a guest speaker to help educate and inspire our team.”
