  • Translation: translate content into over 100 languages.
  • Picture dictionary: display pictures related to text selected on the page.
  • Screen mask: reduce glare with a tinted mask.
  • Webpage simplifier: remove clutter from the screen. Display only the main text.
  • Text magnifier: enlarge text and hear it read aloud.

You can watch this short video which explains how to use the ReachDeck toolbar features or find out more about how to use the features below.

An orange circle with a white person icon. This is the Reachdeck toolbar icon.

Text to speech

To hear the text on the page, use the play and stop icons. Playback starts from the beginning, or you can highlight a section to be read aloud. To download audio, select your text and click the MP3 icon on the ReachDeck toolbar.

Translation

To translate the page, select the symbols icon on the ReachDeck toolbar and a dropdown will appear. Select the language you require and it will automatically translate the page. If you need an interpreter, please contact us.

Picture dictionary

To use image search, highlight a word with your mouse and select the image icon on the ReachDeck toolbar. A picture dictionary will appear to explain what the word means in pictures.

Screen mask

To help you focus, the screen mask icon highlights a rectangular section of the screen. The ruler darkens the rectangular section and is like reading a page using a ruler to follow line by line.

Text magnifier

To make the text larger, when it is read aloud using the text to speech function, select the text magnifier icon on the Reachdeck toolbar. You can change the size of the magnified text in the settings menu.

Webpage simplifier

To help you focus, simplify mode removes distracting menus and boxes from a page and leaves just the article. It is useful for reading long pages of text as well as printing pages.
