Local Space: a different kind of housing
association with a new solution to homelessness
our mission To use the Local Space Model to provide permanent and good quality housing for homeless people by turning Housing Benefit into bricks and mortar.
We delivered 500 homes in our first year (2006/2007) at no extra cost to the taxpayer. At the same time we won a place in the list of the Top 20 housing associations providing new or refurbished affordable homes in London in 2006/2007. We are on course to meet our target of adding 1,000 more homes to the social housing stock in East London by March 2008.
